Dave Ryan and Joe Federer have worked together, and separately, for over 20 years. With complementary skill sets they form a powerful team to bring you practical results. Dave has worked at all levels of industrial and retail sales, business management, and process improvement. He incorporates that knowledge in custom FileMaker solutions. Joe also has retail experience, as well as manufacturing, R&D, fundraising, and non-profits. Joe is a graduate of the University of Waterloo in Computer Science and Engineering. He is a Software Developer using Lotus/IBM Notes/Domino, FileMaker, Ruby on Rails, Python, and other languages.
Dave has had over 50 years of business and manufacturing experience, which spans over two careers.
The first included 20 years in senior management in the electrical industry, during which he successfully held the following corporate positions: General Manager, International Marketing Manager, Product Manager, Business Development Manager, Marketing Manager, National Sales Manager, and Office Manager. This experience has played a vital role in his understanding of a wide variety of business structures, internal administration and organization.
In his second and current career, Dave is the owner and President of two very successful IT related companies – MacSynergy Inc., and Kinetic Synergy Inc. As an IT consultant and a FileMaker database developer for over 30 years, Dave has created over 100 custom database solutions for every conceivable aspect of business function and process. During this time, he has also held the contract positions of: Director of IT, IT Manager, Database Administrator, Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, Business Process Manager, Systems Trainer and Project Manager. He has advised and/or managed dozens of software and computer related projects. These have included ERP Migration, Supply Chain Management (SCM), Data Integration, Financial Reporting, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Human Resource Management (HRM), Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and Material Requirements Planning (MRP).
Joe has been programming computers since about 1970. Languages have changed from Fortran and Assembler to FileMaker, Ruby, and Lotuscript. He has written applications for manufacturing, sales, planning, data analysis, and many others. He continues to advance his knowledge with personal and professional Web-oriented applications.
Computer-related positions have been the foundation for Joe’s career, but he is also an entrepreneur in the Manufacturing and Woodworking fields. He has a patent for a counter-flow heat exchanger and based a small manufacturing company on it. His careers have also included various sales and support positions in the retail automotive and the cultural sectors. He recently served as CTO for an SEO company. His current professional engagements include Cultural Resource Management and director of IT Infrastructure at an Institutional Food Supply company. He continues to advise clients on CRM (Customer Relationship Management) and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) applications.
